What I learned from a child

Raegan and Kade

It's the times I come home to an unexpected visit or when I ring the doorbell, only to hear the pitter-patter of Raegan's little feet come running to get the door. It's Kade's adorable cheeks I love to kiss and his smile when I do so. Raegan's big round eyes begging me to play outside with her...how could I resist? Their giggles as they play together, and laugh at silly things Raegan is doing. They are growing up...and I just wish I could pause time....if only for a moment. They are adorable, and I have no greater joy than watching them learn about the mysteries we call life. They make me smile, laugh, and cry from joy at the blessings they bring into my life. It's the way she says my name, telling me to, 'come sit me.' And the way Kade laughs when we play together on the floor. We teach them all they know, but we often forget about how much they teach us in return. They teach us to be truthful....they teach us to laugh at anything and everything that is silly, and smile at all times. Taking a nap is a good idea, and so is watching movies while lying on the couch. According to their teachings, find adventure in all things, wish on birthday candles and stars, take baths, eat peanut butter sandwhiches and Mac & Cheese, give hugs and kisses to everyone, and never forget to tell people you love them. Life rushes by us, and we often forget to take pleasure in the simple things....but they have taught me differently. They are what I live for!

They keep me sane....

...ok, maybe when we're together we're anything but sane, but they are definitely the thing that keeps me going in life. I love the times we have together....My stomach always aches from laughing when the night is over, but it's totally worth it. They're the ones that know me best, know every little detail of my life, and could write a novel about all the crazy things I've done. The ones that know when something is wrong, even way I say life is great, and know just what to do to make me laugh when I don't even feel like smiling. I am nothing without them....

My Passion...

....is this...The times when I see the most incredible view and can capture it in an instant. When life is moving too swiftly to remember every detail, and I can pause things...even if it is just for a second. This is my artwork. I may not create beautiful painted masterpieces...but I paint a different kind of picture....One I design with my eyes. To capture life in one still photograph that can last a lifetime is more satisfying than anything in this world...and I will continue on with my passion for eternity.
